Safe & Sound Festival Brings Top-Tier Lineup To The West Coast
Safe & Sound Entertainment returns this summer with an impressive 2 days of live music programming for the Safe & Sound Music Fest (SSMF) taking place Friday, August 24 – Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Westminster Pier Park in New Westminster, BC. This is the second year of the annual event for the West Coast. Headlined by Anderson.Paak, Vince Staples, Alina Baraz, Sabrina Claudio, Goldlink and SonReal, the boutique festival will play host to an impressive lineup featuring a hybrid selection of R&B and hip hop.
“After a great first year with the SSMF, we were excited to build on our decision to create a boutique festival experience based around live contemporary R&B and hip hop music,” explains Paul Stoilen, President of Safe & Sound Entertainment. “With Anderson .Paak set to release a new album later this year, our accessible waterfront location at Westminster Pier Park will be an incredible venue for fans to experience his music in person.”
“As a Vancouver, based hospitality company, we work with many local artists on a regular basis and having the opportunity to invite them to perform on our SSMF stage is a real honour. One of the reasons why we wanted to do a two day festival in the first place was so that we could showcase more local talent including the SJS DJs, The Freshest, Niña Mendoza, So Loki, Angst, Sophia Denai, Kenny Gourmet and more.”
The lineup showcases both international and national acts – bringing some of Canada’s most promising voices together on one stage. With a strong year for the Toronto-based artist, anders will make his first festival appearance on the West Coast. Vancouver acts like Manila Grey, So Loki, Kenny Gourmet, SIDE, and Angst are sure to make this a festival that supports the increasing strength of the local music community.
The complete lineup includes:
Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals
The SJS DJs
The Freshest DJs
Arems & Hoppa
Hosted by Flipout
